This is so cool, if I’d have one, I’d never ever keep any of my watches on my wrist or smoke any of my cigars. Like a golden era to modern times fortress mash-up, The Fortress is the best name Dottling could have found for this state of the art safe. Because keeping money in a safe is too mainstream, and you’re a rich hipster after all, this safe keeps your watches, cigars and jewellery away from -- well away from anything and anyone. And if it doesn’t you’ll get $1,000,000 – the certified insurance cover. The Fortress can also “silently” alert police if attempts are made to open it.The thing I like the most about it is you can actually match it with your black leather armchair. I’ll take two. Add a touch of fun to the boardroom or dining room with Table & Tennis ($6,600 USD). This gorgeous table is designed to serve as both a meeting/dinner table and as a regulation-sized ping pong table. Features include a mirrored stainless steel base, a walnut veneer on MDF table top that offers the feel of an official table, and drawers at each end that are custom molded to store paddles, balls, and quick-release net. They're only taking reservations until March 1st, but the good news is that the cost will drop — up to $600 — based on how many reservations they receive.
Designed by Bercy Chen Architecture and located in Austin, Texas is the Edgeland House. Referencing the native pit houses of North Americas earliest inhabitants, the Edgeland House features a semi-subterranean design that improves thermal efficiency while also giving the residence a striking appearance. The split design of the house divides the house between social and private areas and its strong, angular contrast nicely with the natural surroundings that ensconce the property. The icing on the cake is the courtyard area bisecting the two spaces and leading to an outdoor pool. [See More]

P. Diddy may have checked out the penthouse of Tribeca's Merchants House, but it's Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams who purchased the pad, according to the Post's Jennifer Gould Keil. According to Streeteasy, the 6,800-square-foot was last listed for $16.9 million when it was taken off the market at the end of December, but Keil reports that Williams paid $15.8 million, a price that's confirmed on the Elliman listing. The apartment has six bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and a 3,000-square-foot terrace that's so big there's a little bridge crossing a lilly pond. [See More]
Mountain chalets in the Alps have started being more and more in line with overall modern trends. As a supporter of genuine design and with my deep respect for tradition (when it reflect the correct values, that is), I tend to disagree with this process of generalizing. Modern chalets should not all turn modern and start looking the same; after all, some of the things we crave for in a winter holiday is coziness and originality. Chalet K2 is located in the prestigious resort of Courchevel 1850, a complex with 7 elegant chalets (5 for rent), connected through underground corridors. [See & Read More]
If this holds up, we'll have our flying cars sooner than later: Samsung has announced that it will commence production of the world's first commercial "bendy", ultra-thin smartphones. The news add to rumblings in the technosphere that Samsung is also gearing up for the imminent reveal of what it calls an OLED display screen at next year's Consumer Electronics Show in January. Unlike your by-now ubiquitous LED screens, OLED displays actually generate their own light source. What this built-in luminosity means is designers can do away with glass entirely: an OLED screen can be made of just about anything, from metal foil to polymer plastic.
