In anticipation of the upcoming Vossen Precision Series release of wheels, Vossen has released a teaser featuring the Ferrari 458 Italia. The 30 second clip highlights it’s custom features, such as its lightweight aluminum body (T6061 blocks of aluminium, which are standard for airplanes), carbon fiber steering, and carbon fiber race seat interior. British furniture firm Splinter Works has brought the hammock indoors with its latest limited edition product, the Vessel Hammock Bathtub ($TBA). The unique carbon fiber construction allows for that beautiful curved form and also makes the tub light enough to hang. The unique form doesn’t get in the way of function either as the tub features an insulated foam core that ensures water stays nice and warm and with room for two — arguably an experience you’d like to share.

You really can read it for the articles. A new iPhone app from Playboy forgoes the racy photos of beautiful women that the men’s magazine is famous for in favor of the other content readers might have skimmed past: lifestyle articles about travel, clothes, food, booze and more. "Our new app brings the best of Playboy with original, thought-provoking and enticing bite-sized content that captures our design-driven and discernible style," said Scott Flanders, CEO of Playboy Enterprises. "We've rebuilt Playboy for iPhone from the ground up to attract the new generation of Gen Y fans who enjoy the indulgences of the artisanal good life and modern culture." Download it for free here. For fans of Christian Louboutin’s dangerously spiky silhouettes, the French footwear brand releases the overzealous Dandy Pik Pik Velours. The slip-on is being described by the brand as the Louis Pik Pik in loafer form. The shoe is made from black calfskin suede and, of course, features the brand’s signature red bottoms. You can purchase a pair of the Dandy Pik Pik Velours from christianlouboutin.com for approximately $1,807 USD.
Last time, Mercedes-Benz was kind enough to invite us along for a spin in its newly introduced 2014 CLA. This time we are back for another video featuring Benz‘s 2014 range of E-Class models. Taking place in Hamburg, Germany we were given a rundown on different variants of the E-Class, from the E200 to the E500, however, our test vehicle of choice was the E400 Cabriolet — the successor of the E350. Fitted with a 3-liter bi-turbo V-6 engine that is capable of an acceleration of 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds, the E400 boasts 333hp and 354 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 RPM. Mercedes have also made additional changes to the interior and exterior, adding refined touches like an analog clock, redesigned surfaces with premium leathers, and a truly aggressive front that contains multi-lighting under one housing and a single bar grille, reminiscent of the SLS. Enjoy.
There are a lot of things to admire about Gucci, but the thing that strikes me most is the brand’s commitment to interesting hardware. Horse bits, stirrups, bamboo – the Gucci has made a legacy of adorning its bags with interesting signature metal work. For Gucci Fall 2013, the go-to piece seems to be a big, bold, rectangular buckle that’s being referred to as the Gucci Lady Buckle ($3,190 USD) and is often paired with striking jaguar print. (Which simply looks like leopard to me, but sure, we’ll go with Gucci’s story on which big cat it is.) If that look’s a bit too bold for you, you can also get the elements independently on a black leather version of the Gucci Lady Buckle Tote or a jaguar-print bamboo bag. As always, other brand staples are plentiful in the collection – lush python, logo hardware and Guccissima prints. [See More]
The gorgeous Blanco House is a residential project, defined by James D. LaRue Architects, in 2012, in Austin, Texas. The glossy floor adds a touch of sophistication and offers a sneak preview of the graceful interior. [See & Read More]
Every man should own at least one good pair of shorts. Comfortable and relaxed, they're the perfect fair-weather fall-back, and, as Style Director Mr. Dan May demonstrates in our new video, there are a number of ways to wear them. To illustrate this point, we have chosen J.Crew's Stanton Chino Shorts ($60 USD). Constructed from rugged cotton twill, they are available on MR PORTER in a wide range of colours, but to emphasise their versatility we've chosen just one: a sun-bleached shade of lobster pink that brings to mind an East Coast sensibility, and imparts a summery, preppy flavour to each of our five looks. Shorts are inherently informal, and will likely never be appropriate for dinner at The Ritz, but it's possible nevertheless to dress them up or down to suit a variety of laid-back summer scenarios. Enjoy.
